10. Improvement
10.1 General
Continual improvement isn't a slogan — it's a discipline. The organisation actively looks for opportunities to lift environmental performance: from audit findings, incident investigations, performance trends, new technology, stakeholder feedback and management review outputs. Each opportunity is prioritised, resourced, executed, and verified for actual impact.
10.2 Nonconformity and Corrective Action
When something goes wrong — a permit breach, a spill, a missed monitoring point, an audit finding — the response runs in two tracks. First, contain it: stop the immediate impact and deal with the consequences. Then, fix the cause: investigate why it happened, address the root cause so it can't recur, and update the EMS where needed. Effectiveness of the corrective action is verified, not assumed.
